Hi. I’m Jennifer. I’m a writer, comedian, and storyteller, living in Richmond, Virginia. Welcome to my shamelessly braggy bio.

I am the author of the popular series 100 Bad Dates that appeared on RVA News.com, and currently write the weekly column Off The Clock for the same site. In addition, I’m a regular contributor to Belle, Style Weekly‘s monthly magazine for women, and a featured blogger for Dodson and Ross, a sex positive website created by sex educator, author, and artist, Betty Dodson. My writing has also appeared on xojane.com.

In addition to writing, I love to make people laugh. I have a twitter following over 7,000 strong as The Checkout Girl. I was voted “Best Local Twitter Feed” by the readers of Richmond Magazine in their Best & Worst 2010 and 2011 issues, “Best Female Twitterer” in RVA News.com‘s RVA Internet Awards, as well as “Best Local Undiscovered Twitter Feed” by the readers of Style Weekly in their Best of Richmond 2011 issue, “Best Twitter Feed” in their Best of Richmond 2012 issue, and am listed as one of “Our Favorite Comedians” by the popular comedy website FunnyOrDie.com. and an “Awesome Female Comedian” by Buzzfeed.com.

I also love to be on stage. I was a featured performer in Richmond Comedy Coalition’s series “Richmond Famous” (reviewed here by Style Magazine), and was a headliner in “Prisoners of Love”, a one night only live comedy/storytelling show about doomed relationships. My one woman show, “Loosely Based On A Real Girl”, a combination of comedic storytelling and music, based on my time as an adult entertainer, debuted in November 2011 at the Empire Theatre in downtown Richmond to a full house. I’m also frequently found at open mic nights, around the East Coast, amusing myself, and, occasionally, audiences, with inappropriate jokes.

Another passion of mine is music. I play the ukulele in my living room and on stages, around town. Some examples of my work can be found on my YouTube channel.
